Domino at Highridge

Domino has been part of our herd since April 2010. We bought him privately from Andrew Phillips with the intention of showing him a little and then using him at home on pedigree and commercial cows. In his first year of showing, his qualities shone through more and more as each week passed by, so much so, that we jumped in at the deep end and entered him for The Royal Welsh. We had never exhibited there before and hoped that we were not trying to run before we could walk!!

To our delight, Domino stood 1st in his class and then went on to take reserve male champion. He was also selected by the judge, Michelle Wilde to represent the Blues in the very prestigious championships – The Natwest team of five, where the team took the winning spot.

Domino's successes went from strength to strength through out 2010 and in 2011 he reached the top spot on numerous occasions at regional and national shows. Dominos fan club was ever increasing, and we had some fantastic feed back about him from so many of the judges and our fellow breeders, some of which have been breeding Blues for many years, that it became a privilege to have such a wonderful bull to show and to be part of our herd. We decided that after so much interest in his semen that at the end of the 2011 shows, we would send him to stud for semen collection. We already had people waiting for semen from him so it was a big fingers crossed that he would pass all the tests and that his semen would be of good enough quality.

To our delight, the news we had been waiting for came just before Christmas 2011, confirming that all tests were complete and the semen was ready to be sold.
